Frances Jane RichardsFrances Jane Richards (known as Jane) is a British writer and communications consultant, who has lived and worked near The Hague, in the Netherlands, since 1999.

Jane accepts freelance writing and editing commissions for business and non-profit organisations through her consultancy Working Stories and writes features on travel, social history, arts and culture for English Language publications in the Netherlands and abroad.

She also writes creative non-fiction and fiction for children and adults on humanitarian and social history themes. Right now, she is researching and writing a book on the rescue and fostering of Jewish children during the occupation of Amsterdam 1940-1945.

Before she became a writer, Jane had a varied career in business HRM and social responsibility project management. She has run Team Leadership courses on freezing lochs in Scotland, made presentations on expat management in Singapore and directed movies on volunteer projects in schools in Malawi and Tanzania.

Most recently, she served as a volunteer in the Amsterdam office of Somali NGO HIRDA and on the managing committee of the British Club of The Hague.
